In a claustrophobic apartment building, an acquiescent apartment manager is tasked with cleaning out a unit following a series of gruesome rituals. A cursed encounter amid the gore finds the protagonist on the run from a cannibalistic killer, all while her grasp on reality disintegrates.
My Silence, My Grave was my final directing thesis project at film school. On the surface, it’s a simple horror story about a woman trapped between losing her humanity and losing her life. Beneath the horror, it’s a story about one woman’s fight against a system that pits marginalized people against one another. Through physical horror and psychological unease, she is forced to confront how her own inaction has harmed other marginalized people while helping preserve the power of their oppressors.
